Celebration K-8 School offers an opportunity for your child to participate in the Introductory Band Course. Normally, students have Physical Education, Music, Drama and Art. In 5th grade, students can take Band. They would still have P.E. but on all other days they will have Band.
 

The 5th grade year is spent introducing students to all the instruments of the American Concert Band. They will play the Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone and Percussion for approximately a month each. For the remainder of the year, they will experience the other instruments. This will enable them to make their decision about Band based upon the knowledge they have gained.
At the end of the 5th grade year, we hold a “Band Night” where you and your student come for one final experience on each of the instruments. Professional musicians will be there to guide you and your student to the instrument that best fits them.
 

The Intro to Band Course is a full year commitment. Once they begin, the students are required to remain in the class for the entire year. The fee for this voluntary program is $50 to cover the maintenance of the instruments and supplies.
